OFFSET FOR MAGS

The offset of a wheel is the distance from the hub mounting surface to the center line of the wheel.

Offsets can be positive (like most card these days) and negative (older generation propulsion vehicles) So the offset calculation is very important when considering buying new wheels, since this can be a relatively large expense. It is important to take the time to check these details before buying. The offset is calculated in mm.

Description of the offset :

The offset is the part of the wheel that will be installed on the car (the hub). For example: if we take a 10” wheel, the middle of the wheel 5” gives an offset of 0mm. If this center is moved toward the inside of the vehicle, this would be a positive offset. Negative would be toward the outside of the car.

The offset will vary depending on the width of wheel to be centered properly in the wheel well and not rub on the fenders (offset too negative) or on the coil spring (offset too positive.)

Application guide for each generation:
-Bolt pattern = distance between studs in mm.
-Center bore = Size of vehicle hub.
-Bolt size = Size of tire-iron provided by the manufacturer in mm.
-Stud thread = Size of stud thread in metric.
